Trust Level System Workshops |
Testimonials |
The
Trust Level System Workshops are designed to familiarize teachers, student
teachers, and administration with classroom discipline and management
strategies essential to establishing an effective learning and teaching
environment. |
"As a Teacher-on-Call (TOC), it is often quite normal to feel as if the class you have been placed in for the day has contrived a different set of rules for the substitute than for the regular classroom teacher. I have often pondered at how to maintain a sense of consistency in classroom expectations when I am subbing. When I first used the Trust Level System (TLS) in a class, I realized that this behavioural management system has the capacity for providing consistency of behavioural expectations. Because the TLS includes an outline of “bottomline” offenses, consequences for each offense, and the tracking of students’ behaviour, a TOC can follow the same procedure as the classroom teacher. When a substitute teacher is in the class, students must be accountable for their behaviour to the same degree as they are with their regular teacher. The absence of a teacher is no longer a “behavioural holiday” for the kids when the TLS is in place." Shelley Sorensen, Kamloops/Thompson

TLS I: Introduction Workshop This workshop simultaneously introduces the Trust Level System and identifies the three approaches to implementing the Trust Level System into your classroom and school. See how the TLS can be flexible to various styles of teaching or philosophies of discipline, while promoting a safe, learning environment. The Trust Level System's step-by-step process provides strategies that will make classroom discipline less frustrating, but critical to effective teaching.
TLS II: Scenario & Tracking Workshop Learning to use the Trust Level System through realistic scenarios is a valuable training opportunity. Participants will be able to apply their knowledge from TLS I: Introduction Workshop as they assess and respond to realistic behaviours in today's classrooms. Tracking student behaviours is essential in keeping a running record of past and current incidences, being able to recognize behavioural triggers and patterns, and providing clear records to parents and school administration when necessary. This workshop will also show participants how the TLS helps to easily and quickly document behaviour incidences.
TLS III: Implementation Workshop Although the Trust Level System is designed to be flexible and easy-to-use, it is important to discuss how teachers and administrators have implemented the method into their classrooms, schools and existing philosophies of discipline. Together participants will share their successes, difficulties and adaptations - making the TLS III Workshop a valuable opportunity for dialogue. Participating in the TLS I: Introduction and TLS II: Scenario & Tracking Workshops, and purchase of the Trust Level System Manual, is highly recommended.
